About "In His Image"
|
Creating this collection has been a dream of mine for years. I have loved photography for as long as I can remember, and whenever I shoot something like a beautiful sunset or a majestic tiger I am overwhelmed and awed by the awesomeness of God. Not only that He created all of these things, but sometimes I feel like that sunset or image that I was privledged to see was put there just for me. Like a gift He knew I'd appreciate. People have asked me why I don't sign my prints. The reason is simple, my intention is to lift up the name of God, not my own. I am humbled at the fact that God has allowed me to even create these pieces, and especially so if He chooses to use them to touch others. In His Image is based in Virginia Beach, VA. I am more than happy to take special request if there is a scripture you would prefer with a picture, or a different mat/frame color combination, or if you have a custom piece you'd like created. For example, the "Where Can I Go" piece was created from a suggestion from my mother. She said she was surprised I hadn't done anything with the beach or shells, especially since we live right here in Va Beach, so I went to the beach & shot several rolls of film there & when I developed them, this one spoke to me. I've always loved the water & have been awed by it's sheer massiveness. It would make me feel like no matter how big a problem I was facing was, the water was bigger & could swallow it up for me. I've also always felt close to God when I'm around the water, maybe because seeing how big an ocean is makes me realize how big my God is, and that it's not really the ocean that I need to swallow up that problem for me, but God. And that no matter where I go, or what problem I may be running from, He is there, closer than my very breath. Which makes it obvious why I selected Psalm 139:7-10-- not only is it one of my favorite verses, but something I feel God is saying to me when I am seeking solitude at the ocean, a river, a lake, or any other body of water I can find. I hope you enjoy your stay here, and if you'd like emails to update you when I add new pieces, or of different shows I'll be at in the Hampton Roads area, please email me & let me know. May God bless you and draw you in His image. If you are interested in my web design or graphic arts,
